I am Gergo Peter Szekeres, a group leader at the SupraFAB Research Facility of the Freie Universität Berlin. My research mainly focuses on biomolecular phenomena but in isolated systems and in complex environments. I am highly interested in how glycosaminoglycans, lipids, and proteins interact with each other in crowded and/or highly structured environments, which can potentially lead us to the deeper understanding of drug interactions or infection mechanisms. For this, their fundamental biophysical and physical-chemical understanding is essential; therefore, besides my experimental work, I have also been developing custom optics setups to understand their properties.
