I am Gergo Peter Szekeres, a SupraFAB project leader currently working at the Freie Universität Berlin. My research mainly focuses on biomolecular phenomena in the cell membrane, the extracellular matrix, and at their complex interface. I am highly interested in how glycosaminoglycans, lipids, and proteins interact with each other in such crowded and/or highly structured environments, which can potentially lead us to the deeper understanding of drug interactions or infection mechanisms. For this, their fundamental biophysical and physical-chemical understanding is essential; therefore, besides my experimental work, I have also been developing custom optics setups to understand their properties.
